WATCH: Clark City’s new aquatic center reinterpreted as a candy sculpture
Here’s a sweet take on the New Clark City Aquatic Center: a reinterpreted cookie and candy sculpture!
Morinaga, one of Japan’s leading confectionery companies, has recreated Capas’ pool, Tarlac using their beloved goodies such as Dars Chocolate, Choice Cookies, Haichuu, and Ramumune. In case you don’t remember, the New Clark City Aquatic Center hosted the water polo, swimming and diving events of the 30th Southeast Asian Games from November to December 2019.
Using cookies and candies, the snack company made its own take on the 2,000-seat venue, which was inspired by the different facets of the country’s coastal scenes.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry wrote on its Facebook page: âThe concept of prismatic aquatic architecture-design is inspired by local capiz, grid windows, baklad weaves or fishing nets and graceful flow celebrating the spirit of the unique culture and way of life of Filipino coastal communities.
According to DTI, the cool collaboration was carried out by Morinaga & Company, Ltd., Chihiro Graphics, Budji Layug & Royal Pineda, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Tokyo, and the Design Center in the Philippines.
