Signing of a memorandum of understanding on the creation of a cultural and educational exchange center

LAHORE: The University of Education (UOE) in Lahore and the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts (HBAFA), China, on Thursday signed an agreement to establish the “Center for Cooperation and Exchange of Culture and ‘education”.

The signing ceremony for the agreement took place online. UOE Vice Chancellor Prof. Talat Naseer Pasha and Chancellor and President of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts Zhen Zhongyi signed the MoU. HBAFA is a full-time undergraduate fine arts academy approved by the Ministry of Education and one of nine independently established fine arts academies in China.

According to the agreement, the Center for Cooperation and Exchange of Culture and Education will be established at Hebei Academy of Fine Arts in China and University of Education in Pakistan for better communication, cooperation, exchanges in doctoral and master’s programs. In accordance with the agreement, quality education and training will be provided to students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in history, arts and cultural heritage. This collaboration is designed to build the first level of the One Belt One Road (OBOR) research community in the fields of history, arts, cultural heritage or other key subjects, and academic projects of the governments of the China and Pakistan.

VU: In a bid to empower South Balochistan, the Virtual University of Pakistan on Thursday signed a landmark MoU with three universities in South Balochistan.

The Rector of VU, Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem and Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, VC of Turbat University, Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad and VC of Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, Khuzdar Dr. Ehsanullah Kakar signed the agreement.

Professor Arshad Saleem said the MoU will help raise the educational standards of Balochistan in general and South Balochistan in particular.
